The famous comedians The Try Guys have cut their ties to Ned Fulmer, one of the founding members. The group’s founder admitted to having a “consensual” relationship at work.
“Ned Fulmer has ceased involved in conjunction with The Try Guys,” the group stated in a Tweet Tuesday. “As the consequence of an in-depth internally-led review process, we cannot think we can work together in the future. We appreciate your help in navigating this transition.”
Shortly following his tweet shortly after the Try Guys’ announcement, Fulmer confirmed rumors circulated on social media claiming there were some extra-marital affairs.
“Family ought to have been my priority. However, I lost focus and could not maintain an agreement with my employer,” Fulmer said in the blog post. “I’m regretful for the harm that my actions could have caused to the team and fans, but the most important thing is Ariel,” he said about his wife.
“He’s going to focus on his family, which is where he needs to be,” Fulmer said. “I think that’s the right thing for him and for his family.”
In an Instagram blog post, Ariel Fulmer posted, “Thanks to all who have reached out to meet means a lot. There is nothing so important for Ned or me as our families, and all we ask at this point is to be respectful of our privacy to protect our children.”
In the lead-up to the announcement of the Try Guys announcement, fans who were on online forums noticed that Fulmer was not in recent videos of the group and, in some instances, was removed from previous episodes.
After Fulmer’s departure, The Try Guys will consist of the remaining three trios: Keith Habersberger, Zach Kornfeld, and Eugene Lee Yang. The trio began their careers at BuzzFeed before leaving the digital media firm in June 2018 to establish their production firm, 2nd Try. The spokesperson of Try Guys did not respond to a request to provide more details.
With their famous willingness to experiment with almost anything, the Try Guys have created videos of the guys performing anything from testing out labor-pain simulators to taking on Alaskan dog sledding and the possibility of parallel parking their 18-wheeler vehicles to obtaining nail extensions. They Try Guys currently has 7.8 million users through their Youtube channel.
One of their first videos, when the group was at BuzzFeed, included “Guys Test Ladies’ underwear for the First time,” which went viral in 2014. It has an impressive 22 million people watching it. The group co-wrote the bestseller “The Hidden Power of F*cking Up” and was featured in the documentaries such as “Behind the Test.”
They also landed an episode on the Food Network, “No-Recipe Road Trip with The Try Guys,” produced by Beyond Productions, which premiered on the network’s TV channel and Discovery+ in August 2022. The show, which features all four team members, The Try Guys, tests their culinary abilities to recreate favorite menu items at restaurants nationwide without recipes or other guidelines. The Try Guy with the most popular dish, as voted by the local chef and guest judge, will be able to see his dish placed on the restaurant’s menu.
